A game show called “American Gladiators” has also been a leading sport in this country. The game show was very popular in the United States in the 1980s. Game show hosts would select teams, or competitors, from the audience, and the players would then try to knock each other out of a ring, or pit, of obstacles. The winning team or player would get to live and take home whatever prize was there. American Gladiators was syndicated on various television stations, and remained a popular game show well into the next decade.
